Default Electric fan in a 2nd generation Ram

Has anyone attempted to put an electric fan in a 2nd Gen. Ram like people have talked about in the 3rd Gen section? I saw their threads and am curious to see if the same thing would work for my truck.

Thanks

2001 Ram 1500 4x4 Quad cab, 5.9, automatic, edelbrock titech headers, K&N FIPK, Flowmaster Cat back, Super chips programmer

I dont see why it wouldnt, less strain on the engine. maybe a lil more stain on the alt but not enough to cause it to bog the engine down nearly as much as a belt would

well, you've still got the belt that's turning the PS, WP, ALT, Tensioner, and the all important AC. and the fan is a clutch style that slips, so you get a break there... and i don't care to turn more rpm, or go any faster, so i'm still just wondering how much power gain can actually deliver to the rear wheel as higher mpg. we need a HANKL study on this.
