Restore: Engine Treatment, good and bad
ok so today i got around to my oil change and i read on here that someone used Restore: engine tratment, and he gained compression.
I tried it out today with Quaker Horsepower Full Syn 10w30 and a mopar filter.
I went for a 120 mile trip today, and she does go alot better. the RPMS catch at 900 rpms now when going from stop, it was 1200-1300 RPMS.
It also feels like the motor is not working as hard. (less strain) the pickup on it has greatly increased, and overall the motor feels REAL good. My shifting got smoother somehow as well, i cant feel it shift anymore, before i was able to feel a slight jerk when it shifted sometimes, now it doesnt do it at all. Also the motor has a somewhat deeper tone...dont know how those two could have happened.
Motor doesnt have a shake anymore. before when idling you could see the motor going slightly back and forth, and now it hardly moves. idles REALLY clean.
The downfall to this is that my oil psi has dropped. it is now consistantly at 45 PSI. when before it was 45-50 Idle, and 55-60 running.
but the oil PSI doesnt bob around when i slow down and hit the gas now. it stays right at 45 PSI and has only the slightest movement.
All in all i recommend this to the fellow second genners. Im using it every oil change now. Unlike Lucus, i can feel a difference with this stuff. cant beat it for 10 bucks at Wal-Mart.

I was just thinking about using some of that stuff next time I change the oil. But, I forgot it when I was buying everything else. Damn!
However, I am gonna try out a different kind of oil this time, I'm trying out Pennzoil platinum full synthetic. It claims to remove up to 46% of engine sludge on the first oil change. I'm skeptical, but I'll see how it does. I think for awhile I'm just gonna be testing different oils at each oil change for awhile; to see if any one seems to be better than the rest.

That'll be good; we can compare to see if our results are the same. I am gonna try to change it as close to 3000 miles as I can, and take pictures of the oil going in and coming out. I might put some seafoam or restore in once, only at the beginning of each change so that moisture inside the engine isn't to blame for anything.
