Weld a steel plate to a cast aluminum air intake? How about no.

And I say goodluck to you making your own plate, felt ripped off when I received my Hughes. But I work fulltime with college classes so I didn't have to the time to spare the DIY work.

Got two sheets of aluminum good enough to make two plates. Ordered the FEL-Pro plenum gasket from AutoZone. That will be here Friday. Then Monday I'm gonna take the plates to school and use the drill press to drill the holes out.

So far I have $15 in these plates.

There are some markings on one of the plates. It is 7075-T651 aluminum. Not sure what the other plate is.
