This is the freeze plug that was right under the starter....I was going through a gallon of coolant almost every week...how do you like that hole? Looked like a birdy!

Replaced 2 of them. The others seemed fine and these two we're the only ones leaking or at least appeared to be leaking. Will check levels in a few days to confirm

So I was just curious, what size were both freeze plugs?

Brass 1 1/4" diameter. The ones in the picture are not brass though

They're both 1 1/4? I thought that they were both different sizes. The only reason I ask is because I'm getting ready to replace my plugs and I want to buy the plugs BEFORE I start. Thanks again Chad...

J415, These we're the 2 plugs right under the block. Not the one that is benhind the tranny or the one that is blocked by the motor mount. Those could be differen't but I am not sure.

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2

Also, be prepared to get peed on or keep a bucket handy

Technically they are on the side of the block not under it. Also there is a drain plug on the side of the block that allows you to drain the coolant out. Althought if your freeze plugs were rusted through it was probably frozen up.

True but I still had to go under thanks for the confirmation. And I did not know that...
