No need to remove inserts to paint the grille, I used what I had to cover them and sprayed..

only reason i removed mine was to put in a billet grille.....

they make overlays that you keep the honeycomb and put over or the ones i had, you completely remove the honeycomb and it bolted to the grille bracket

ah i was looking at replacing mine its the shell is broken away from the bracket and the chrome on the grille is peeling so i was wondering how hard it was to get the billet grilles to attach to the shell

on some aftermarket grilles, like my current one, the honeycomb is molded with the grille itslef and has to be cut out, chrome replacements should be the same as stock tho

You can use a soldering gun and some abs cement to fix it. Then sand it and paint it...
