ok guys... as some know, i blew a remaned trans out of my truck...

long story short, new one is in, and the trans place says that now there is an overdrive issue with it...

says there is no over drive what so ever, say it could be an electrical issue, or a switch issue...

the only thing i am asking the is... i had overdrive, but the switch was bad, i know it was, but i didnt care, i never turned it off anyway... if the switch is bad, wont it just not be able to be turned off?

i want to know to make sure this place isnt f*kin me over... like it seems they are...

 

the switch on my column is fukkeed too, you need to be in either Park or reverse for it to turn off. But this said, its the only issue. my overdrive works just fine and my switch is def screwed up. sometimes i cant get it to turn off at all. its a hit and miss deal

 

That switch is electric right? It's not vacuum I don't think. Then I guess it would depend on which way it failed unless it has a default to no OD. Not sure on that though. With the amount of money you spend putting in a new tranny I'd just put in a new switch too.

 

well thats the thing, i didnt pay for it, it was under warrentee to get the trans replaced,,, and my switch was bad before the tranny went and the overdrive worked fine, and now they are just saying that the trans has no od at all.... i think i may just take the truck from them and do this **** myself...

 

yes the switch is electric. if it was stuck inthe off position the od light on the dash should be on? i would assume so anyways

yea, had to do a bunch of paper work... but the light on the dash doesnt come on, even when i knew the od was off, the light never came on... so i dont know...

anyone got any ideas for this one... i called back, talked to the accuall tech, he explained the trans goes right into gear, shifts amazing from 1-2-3 and then no OD...

 

i think you need to sell that tranny and buy a new one from a different company dude. sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet on things

 

yea i know... if this one is truely bad... im going to buy two rebuild kits.. a 46re, and a 47re rebuild... and just have the trans shop rebuild it for me....

 

anyone got anything else... where is helms, he had that red 2500, he was always real good with these trannies...
