Pcm??????????????
It could still be one of the sensors in the tranny, gov. sensor or TC lock up solenoid. For the love of GOD man, LOL Replace the PCM, let it go through a drive cycle or two, then reset it and let it relearn and go from there.
Tranny was just rebuilt... And no. I havent tested the lock up. I already have the PCM... Just have to have time to test it. Im gonna replace it with a brand new one anyhow... Im totally going through this truck. Trust me... 1K isnt much to look at. Also, The PCM problem I think is why I got this truck so cheap... Ive had it just over a year. Its not my everyday drive... So it has been sitting pretty much since I bought it.....
First picture is of the external voltage regulator mounted on top of the passenger wheel well...
The second is of the back of the alt. where the two terminals are... Green wire is the right side and blue wire is the left side....
The red wire running left is running to the relay box on top of the drivers wheel well. It is spliced into the relay for the fuel pump.
This makes it activate only when the key is on. And leaves you worrying less about a dead battery in the middle of nowhere...
The red wire which runs to the relay box attaches at the drkgrn/black wire that exits the fuel pump relay...
(I didnt cut this wire. Merely foled and stripped it for the connector. You do not have room to work with...)

It doesnt have to mout there... As long as the Alternator gets the power it needs you should be good... Using a Relayed power supply is better than hooking to straight to a source... Could damage the alt... Or run down your battery... This is meant to be a temporary fiix... I dont know how long you could actually run it like this... Possibly until the Regulater goes out again... Chime in if anyone has seen this as useful???
Forgive me for not reading the entire thread first, but this is not true. There is a separate ECM and PCM, at least on my truck. The PCM is the main computer, but the ECM controls the fuel system and is housed in a separate box under the hood. You can see this information on page 465 of the factory service manual .pdf ('99-'01 models) that can be found in this forum.

Starting on post #25 of this thread, cmckenna raised the ecact same point as you, I responded, and here we are doing it again.

Wow, talk about ungrateful. First off, I wasn't replying to you. I was simply trying to prevent any confusion about ECMs and PCMs that might be conveyed to other readers of the thread. Second, perhaps if you learned to edit your posts instead of making new ones to add a sentence or two, the threads you're involved in wouldn't bloat up to eight or more pages of uselessness. Lastly, multiple threads for the same issue make it hard for anyone to follow along. You may have only one box under your hood, but I sense there's a big airspace between your ears.
