And by the way... It does the same thing with the new PCM.... Tranny temp sensor was just out.... Changin all tranny sensors this week... As well as kitting it. If I can find one i want and at the right price...
Tinkerinman, I read all your other posts. To me it sounds like the alt. With almost 300K it's on it's way out, if it 's never been replaced. Also, just because it still starts, doesn't mean the battery isn't bad. These components don't last forever. I would be very suprised if it was the PCM. Just my 2 cents.
If he is getting OBDII code P0601, it is *definitely* the PCM.
How about never go though that company. I recieved one DOA pcm that wouldn't start my truck. Had them send a replacement which came defective as well (threw a p0601) for an internal pcm checksum error. Not to mention the run around the company gave me, I even paid extra to have the pcm by the weekend and they shipped it too late. Nothing but bad experience with the company and will never recommend. I got a rebuild from a local autoparts store that sold remanufactured pcms by cardone. Been going strong ever since.
I agree with you 100%. got one DOA. Sent it back and called them. they assured me a new one would be en rout the next day with 2 day shipping. That was back on thursay. So after getting all the run around and transferring of calls to useless techs I got pissed and threatened contacting consumer protection. well that changed their tune realllll quick. got my tracking number and it will be here on 2 day air mail.
