Default Installed my Pacesetter Longtubes today!

Hey everyone, figured I show some pictures of my install. I found of thread on here where someone bought a set of Pacesetter long tubes with the offroad Y pipe kit for their Ram 1500. I was so excited to see that someone found a longtube kit that I had to go for it. So, here they are, ceramic coated, 1 3/4 inch into 3 inch collectors with 3 inch Y pipe kit (I didn't take pictures of the Y pipes on). I was very nervous buying these because I have a 2500, and according to summit they would not fit a 2500. But, I went for it, and there you have it, they fit! Sounds amazing, almost like a monster truck when I just had the open headers. The Y pipe barely cuts down on the loudness, but it will be better once I finish the exhaust with a set of mufflers. Installing the drivers side was a huge hassle, had to remove the master cylinder, wires and harness in the way, the front drive shaft, and the starter to be able to squeeze it in there. I almost gave up at one point, I figured my loss, summit was right, 1500 only...but I gave it on last push and twist from under the truck and it basically fell into place. It did scratch the ceramic coating a bit but nothing deep enough to worry about. The only issue I'm having is that the front drive shaft rubs on them. With the truck on the ground I can spin the shaft by hand and it just barely rubs the pipes. I'm also worried about heat damaging parts under the hood (brake lines, plug wires), so I'm probably going to fabricate some heat shields to protect stuff. I was going to try using a hammer to slightly dent the pipe by the drive shaft to give it clearence, but I'm afraid of damaging the ceramic coating. Anyways, so far I'm super happy with the product, throttle response is increased, but I haven't driven it far due to there being no mufflers yet. Enjoy!

They look about the cleanest piece on the vehicle so far looks good though, but dang thats way to close to the shaft IMO, ive seen a few other pics of longtubes that are close but i dont think that close, gonna pass on the longtubes myself....

No but you can just eliminate the EGR with on ill effects, not even a check engine light. If you are worrying about immisions just have some make a tube and flange to attach the egr tube.

I know the trucks a bit rough, it's a work in progress. I tried taking a video with my cell phone (which I also took the pictures with) but the sounds was so loud that it comes through the phone resembling someone banging pots and pans together, and when i revved the engine, the sound on the phone pretty much went silent till the RPM's dropped, heh. Once I get a set of mufflers on there I'll take a video, maybe with something that records sound better. Believe it or not that engine is out of a salt truck, thats why it's so rust, and the old engine leaked oil all over the place and I just haven't put the effort into cleaning it up much. Once the warm weather hits I'll be able to take time after work and fix all the little things (and clean) on the truck.

You know the first time you hit a bump in that your driveshaft is going to smack that header right?

Yeah I would really suggest a leveling kit.
