Angry Seized axle nut

This weekend I decided to tackle balljoints, hubs, axle seals.

For the life of me I can't seem to get the axle nut off on the passenger side. I've let it soak in PB Blaster all night, I tried it with my impact, I tried it with my 4 foot breaker bar. Tried heating it up with a torch. I can't get this thing off!! I'm pretty sure it's not reverse thread but thought I would ask you guys. any other ideas?

If I can't get it off tonight (going to let it soak for a few more hours with the PB blaster) I might just toss the whole axle/hub and hit up the wrecker for a new axle.

TIA!!

Use a longer pipe, it will come off. PM 95RAM360 he'll tell you everything you need to know, he did it a few months back

How strong is that impact, foot pound wise?
Do you have any atf and acetone kicking around? Those two mixed 50/50 in a glass container (beer bottle) are supposed to be the best at penetrating rust.

you got a truck or tire shop nearby? drive it over there and have them break it loose with their big 1 inch mega-impact wrench. oil and reinstall it not so mega-tight and drive home to restart the job.

while I was waiting for the PB Blaster to "work" on the passenger side I ripped appart the drivers side. In hindsight this would have been the best option.

Not sure how many ft/lbs my impact is. i would imagine it's not the greatest, as it's just a small campbell hausfeld with the impact that came in the kit.

I will try the ATF/Acetone 50/50 mix. I will run to the auto parts store and pick up some acetone. there is no lack of empty beer bottles to mix it up in haha.

Thanks guys!!

When i did mine this no joke, i had a 3/4 inch rachet with about a 6ft breaker bar and it took all three of us men to break that thing loose. Impact wasnt even budging it.

When I redid mine I slamed on it with a sledge hammer and used PB blast. Then I used an 600 ft-lb reverse imapact. It took about 2 hours a side with steady impacting to remove them. They were literally smoking as they came off.

Put a 6-8 ft. or longer lenth of 2" ridgid pipe on your breaker bar and it'll come loose. Put it back at 175 ft. lbs. of torque if you can. Most likely the cotter pin will go in the same castle nut slot.
