Good- Better shift response, higher line pressures, lower fluid temperature, longer trans life

Bad- Harder shifts can be annoying for some people on a daily driver

i had a shift kit in an older vehicle and under heavey throttle when it shifted it would bark the tires. but that depends on the shift kit.[sm=gears.gif]

go to krc performance or take out the clip on the throttle body on the passenger side. It has a white clip (pull it out) then adjust the cable towards the fire-wall to increase shift points. Remember to mark the original setting so you know where to start and I would go only one notch at a time until you get the desired effect.

Oh yeah reinstall the clip to keep the TV cable from moving.

A shift kit has a few advantages over adjusting the TV cable...one of which is improved oiling to the overdrive unit. Since the overdrive is a common failure point for these trannys, I'd suggest installing a shift kit.

do they make a shift kit for the 2001 5.2? I was told it was just something they reprogrammed?
