Will do, thanks.

I think I was damn close to that the other day. Will a 2300 tc make a difference in how hot it gets?

a torque converter has everything to do with how hot it gets. A low stall converter will not produce the same amount of heat a higher stall converter does.

Well I did some testing today and found out one of two things. Either the laws of physics no longer apply, water boils at 160F and we're all going to die as the universe flies apart at the seams or my freebie gauge reads about 60F low.

Just got thru watching the ATSG video on the A500 how much difference is there between that and 46re? Do they have a video and service manual that actually covers the 46re? Everything I have seems to cover the Rh only.
Thanks
Dave

Still getting the same code - seems to be starting out in a high gear (seems like no first or OD) - spoke to tech support at transgo and he stated it is a relay problem

I downloaded a trans troubleshooting pdf..

I swapped the trans relay several times and that is not it...

the pdf shows the 8 pin trans solenoid connector pin layout and have read that you need to use the dodge scan tool to run some of the tests...

Is there a way to test the connector wires for input and output voltages?? and a diagram to and from the 8 pin connecter to other end (to test for open or shorted wire)???

PS - I test drove the truck with the solenoid connector unplugged and there is no difference with or without it connected...
You have a bad 3-4 shift solenoid. The two that are held onto the valvebody with 3 screws. One of those has gone bad, you have to replace the whole set which involves removing the valvebody.
