If all my rust went away, I am not sure I would still have a truck.......

I never have been one to care much about body work.... I WORK my truck, so, a nice shiney paint job lasts an hour or so. (not to mention off-roading.......)

Making some of the holes go away wouldn't hurt my feelings though.

when using the eraser, did you let the eraser come in contact with the body/paint? or hover it just above the adhesive? i just pried my black tailgate piece off, not much tape is left on the truck, just a few places here and there. i'm going to pick up fishing line bc i went through a whole roll of floss and still used pocket knife. i only had one litte dime size rust spot in the crevice of the tailgate. whats the best way to handle this before it gets out of control?

since we last wrote, has anyone removed those rubber side strips yet? or any new pics. i take pics, i just don't know how to load them. off to get fishing line.

where the "dodge" and "4x4" is, do you just heat those up with a hair dryer and they come off?

i used fishing line to remove the emblems and the rubber strip from the door panel. then i used the eraser to remove all the adhesive. i just made sure i didnt apply a ton of pressure but just enough to remove the adhesive with the eraser. And dont keep it in one spot for a period of time. also my eraser was touching the paint and no paint came off. after i got all the adhesive off with the eraser, it left some type of rusty residue/ black water spots that i could'nt get off with goo gone so i bought this stuff called 3M rubbing compound and it took care of it.

yeah fishing line worked way better than floss! i have removed the V8, ram1500 and the tailgate piece, i am tempted to do the rubber strip but not sure if i will have enough eraser wheel left.

did your eraser wheel last through all of that? i only ordered one

oh great! thanks a lot guys...yet another project on my 'to-do" list. couldn't at least one of you posted about messing up your truck sooo bad and wished you never did it. hahaha
now i have to decide which comes first...probably debadging so the cab trim will be out of the way for lining the rocker panels.

well..i did the ram1500 v8 and slt emblems by hand (about 20min per side)...used a piece of ribbon, citrus based adhesive remover, and finger tips....kind of rolled the crap off like a booger...to finish up i clay barred the area w/ meguires quick detailer.....
SPOTLESS!!!!!

so i did my entire tailgate, the v8, ram1500. i used fishing line, goo gone, and the eraser. all i have left is the rubber strips along the door. i'm gonna do that tomorrow. hopefully ill have enough eraser to do the freaking strips. those double strips are a pain bc they use so much eraser. yeah i rolled the crap too, and then erased.

what does a clay bar do? never tried. won't wax work as a finishing touch? i have some nu finish to put on. if i knew how to post pics i would show yall the shots.

claybar took out that yellow/brownish "ghost" and any adhesive and little rust bits on the paint.
can anyone tell me what's under the pin stripe? is it 2 thin strips or 1 solid strip of adhesive?
