Unhappy Exhaust Problem

I just got WALKER Part #17322, and EASTERN CAT Part #70535 thinking it would be no problem to install. I knew that since it was a dual exhaust system it would be a bit more difficult though, but nothing me and my buddy couldn't handle. Everything is basically rust welded on the underside of the truck, so i applied liberal amounts of PB Blaster to all components. One problem I noticed is that the header reducer pipe(s) going to the cat are not included with the kit I got. I was thinking of just putting everything in and using the existing piping from the headers to the new cat but I dont have access to a MIG or Arc welder. Just a MAPP gas torch and solder, along with liquid steel. I really need to have this put in because Ive been running this with no O2S and my cat is nearly fried. I appreciate any tips/guidance! Put it together as much as you can, and then take it to a shop to get it welded. Don't use the liquid steel, or other stuff, as they will have to clean that all off to get a good weld.

So are you saying just hang the exhaust and leave the cat to the shop?

Basically. Yes. Put as much of it together as possible, given the tools at hand, and just have the shop do the rest.

I got my exhaust welded up for like 20 bucks. Of course, the owner of the shop is a friend of mine, and I used to work for him..... back when I could still do that sort of thing...... Any exhaust shop should do ya up though. Everything is legal, so, they shouldn't complain too loud. If they start saying things like "you need to buy this...", just take it to another shop.

Might look at renting an electric welder for a few hours? Gotta be cheaper than 280 bucks.
