Default Front Differential Leak

I think i have a link on my 95 Dodge Ram 5.9L 360 V8. Its leaking at the front differential, which i had filled today.

Is it leaking cuz the place filled it too much? Or is it a seal? etc etc?

I don't use the 4H or 4L drive. I keep it in 2 wheel drive.

Any input would be great.

Where is it leaking from? The diff cover, or the right or left where the axle shafts come out?

Simple fix really.... Pull the cover, clean both mating surfaces (cover plate, and diff housing), run a bead of rtv around the diff housing, let it sit for five to ten minutes, then put the cover back on, and tighten the bolts. (use the same kind of pattern for tightening the bolts that you would for tightening lugnuts) Top it off with fresh fluid.

End of problem.

Thank you! I looked up how to do it and it looks relatively easy.

One question. Does the RTX work better than a differential cover gasket? I was looking at advance auto parts and came across this:

what do you think?

I am right there with 95RAM360, for diff covers, I never use a gasket. The RTV actually seals it better. There are no alignment issues, such as you may have with the central axle disconnect system. (I did put that gasket back in there.... dealer only part though.)
