is it possible that my truck would run at 70 miles an hour on the expressway and still have a week fuel pump? my fuel pump only reads to be pushing 26 pounds but I didn't think that would open the injectors enough for the truck to run at 70 miles per hour don't know I'm not a mechanic just a confused try to fix it yourself guy. thanks in advance all.

PCM can compensate for a weak fuel pump, to an extent..... eventually, as pressure falls off, it will start leaning out, be more prone to spark knock, and set a code for the lean condition. You don't want to wait that long. (and it will more than likely just stop working altogether before then.... leaving you on the side of the road.)
Replacing the pump really isn't that bad of a job. (provided you don't have a lot of gas in the tank.....) Just need the quick disconnect tool. The rest is just basic hand tools. (and a jack...)

Another option worth checking out since you said it has new plugs and wires would be go back over all the plugs and wires and distributor and make sure they are all in the right place. I accidently mixed up two on my f150 and it miss fired (obviously) and would backfire through the intake. Just an idea before replacing stuff.
