Question transfer case issue?

ok when I have my truck in 4 low and try to go to 4 high my t-case grinds like hell and yes I know i have to stop the truck and put it in neutral before I can do anything with the t-case but every single time I go from 4 low to 4 high its grinds like hell and I was hoping someone on here could tell me why because it bugs me

how are you doing the shift ?
there are no synchronizers (sp?) so if you shift slow, or pause, you're stuck.
the right way to shift is to come to a stop, or near stop. trans in neutral, and shift the sob as hard and fast as you can, all the way through neutral. do not pause.

the only other way to shift is to turn it off, shift, then start it back up. if you get stuck in neutral, you pretty much have to do this.

Install a transfer case that has synchronizers? Not sure which one that would be though.

Give the shutting off the engine trick a shot.

Not sure if putting the trans in park would work or not. (hold truck in place with brakes, not trans.....)
