is this plenum defect common on the 3.9 magnums also?

If you have the keg style manifold, you can expect to encounter the problem.

Ill take a look at that cause my 99 has some serious power issues along with loud pinging.
It makes it sound like a diesel

Buy a new pcv from the dealer before you pull the old one out. The plastic gets brittle when they're old. Good chance it'll break when you pull the old one out.

The constant ticking sound your hearing sounds like the injectors to me.

If anyone decides to go for new headers

time for true duals with pacesetter long tubes! been looking for a reason to get them. 300 bucks on jegs for the painted ones i think.
I seriously suggest getting some nice thick stainless steel headers. Unless you like rust of coarse, if thats the case paint babay!
