Silver Lake sand dunes!
Hi all,
Made a run up to Silver Lake for the first time this season. It was a beautiful day weather wise. Sunny with highs in the lower 70s, no wind = perfect. There was very heavy fog rolling off the lake until about 5pm, but the air was perfectly clear as little as 200 yards off the water, kinda weird.

I hauled 3 quads up with me, one in the bed and two on my little 6'x8' trailer. My truck did pretty good hauling them around, I even left it in OD!

Test hill!

Here's a video of me just cruising around...

And here's a couple of jacked of trucks playing in a water hole...

I did have a couple minor accidents today, both of which really burn me up. I've never put a scratch or a dent in my truck until today...

I came over a really steep/peaked hill in an area I wasn't very familiar with. As I crested the hill I caught a glimps of some driftwood directly infront of me. I hit the brakes but the hill was so steep I ended up sliding on the sand right into a tree stump that was half burried in the sand. I couldn't back up because I was at a near vertical angle, and I couldn't go forward because the stump would have wrecked my truck. Luckily within seconds of bumping into the stump 3 untility quads and a side-by-side (all with winches) came and winched the stump out of the sand. It was burried 5 feet down with only a foot and a half sticking out (kinda like the iceburg that sunk the Titanic) The stump scraped off a lot of paint and put stress markes in the plastic bumper. Could have been worse, I guess.
The other incident happend when were were unhooking the trailer at the end of the day. I couldn't put the tailgate up because there was a quad on it. When we pulled the hitch off the trailer tilted forward like it was supposed to, but before I was able to pull away my buddy picked the toolbox up off of the front of the trailer and it tilted back up and the hitch smashed into the tailgate
. Put a nice gouge right in the center of it. Oh well, I needed to get some rust issues taken care of anyway.
Oh and here's one for you Diesel fans...
