01 Ram 4x4 Shakes at 45 mph? HELP
I have an 01 Ram quad 4X4 offroad edition that shakes like hell at 45 and gets worse when you slow down until you get below 35. I have recently had the entire front end, bearing, seals, brakes, bushings and everything else you can think of replaced $1400. Replaced front and rear differentials, transfer case, used drive shaft and a bunch of other stuff. It drove good right after all the parts were replaced but then started shaking at 60 mph and now 45 mph. Running 285/16's and I am hoping tommorow they just tell me its a wheel out of balance or bad tire but everytime I turn around its some other high dollar repair. Whats the best guess of whats wrong. It feels like the hole front end is falling apart but everything is tight. Jacked it up and no play in the front wheels?
Dont think its the death wobble. Seems like you would pick it up in the steering wheel vibration if it was the trak bar. I dont know for sure but I am close to giving up on Dodge. Just seems like there is always so wierd expensive thing I have to replace and my other truck is a 2002 Avalanche and I havent even replaced the alternator after 288K miles and I have a 124K on my Dodge and I have replaced the trani, front end, rear end, heater core, transfer case over $4K in the last 3 months,
is it shaking in the front (steering wheel), or in the rear ?
rotate your front tires to the rear and see if it changes anything.
i bought a set of blemished tires a long time ago and they shook like hell at low speeds.

Inspect the track bar. You don't have to feel it in the steering wheel for it to be bad. Mine was bad and replaced, and I never felt anything in the steering wheel (although the steering was a little tighter after it was replaced).
Many Dodges last longer than your Chevy, and they don't have hardly an issues what-so-ever. It depends on luck, how the PO treated the truck, and how well the PO (and then you) have maintained it. Its very possible you got a bad apple Dodge, or a very lucky apple Chevrolet, and/or the PO of the Dodge treated it like crap and you got the bad end of the deal.
Blaming an entire brand due to one single experience with a vehicle is extremely closed minded. I'm sorry to come down on you so hard, but we give you an idea, and without even checking it, you shoot it down and blame the brand. Sounds like you already gave up to me, and just came on here to b*tch. I hope you prove me wrong.
Just my two cents.
Just tired I guess. The trak bar was replaced less than 200 miles ago along with the ball joints, U joints, stearing control box, I could see it being the trak bar if it occurs when you hit a bump or something or if you were in 4 Hi. The alighnment was checked yesterday, camber was off a little but nothing major, Who knows maybe the mechanic missed something.

I have a '96 2WD that does the same thing. So I doubt its a front axle-track bar issue, since I do not have one.
I suspect it is my tires, but not certain. The truck will shake at/around 45 mph on its on, but when I brake it is really bad (but I have new pads and rotors).
Go figure
