what gaskets NOT to use for Hughex plenum plate?
I remember hearing someone saying that not to use the small black gaskets that come in the kit because it will make the intake sit too high? Just use some permatex silicone, right?
I know to use the big gasket that looks like the stock one.
But I need to make sure. Ditch the small black gaskets? Oh, and loctite on the intake threads.

i used mine, and i put a light coat of rtv on them so they wouldn't slide out of position and a generous dab of rtv at the corners, where they meet the side gaskets. you don't want this to leak, or you'll be redoing it all.
here's another tip - take 4 of your old intake bolts and cut the heads off. thread them in the 4 corners only about 1 or 2 rounds. use them as alignment pins to drop the intake on straight. start the other bolts, and remove the 4 alignments.

Thanks for the tip DH, like doing heads. I almost forgot that. I have to break out the cutting wheel now.
As long as i know I can use all the gaskets and it won't be wrong. I thought it was weird that they included the gaskets...if they ended up screwing up your intake.
Thanks, off to the garage.
