Performance I noticed it's a little bit better on the mid/high RPM, and it did get quite a bit louder, not insanely loud though. Not so much in the tone, it just made it generally louder.. if that makes any sense lol. Overall I'm glad I did it, except I would have gone a different route after seeing how much more I paid than you.

well im interested to see what it sounds like and performs like. since i do more hwy driving i dont care for it to be over the top on loudness.

Haven't gotten them yet, but they're on the list. I know I've got one that mounts in the cat itself, as for if/where there's another one I haven't ever taken the time to look. I'm also a 95 though, so all my stuff is OBDI.

I hear that. Doing my plenum next weekend hopefully. With my high mileage I'm wondering if I should keep a spare drain pan handy. No telling how much oil is in that thing.

Truegent, your magnaflow will be a little louder and will sound pretty good with that 40 series muffler since you don't want it too loud. I think the 40's sound best with no cat because I like louder exhaust. It also might take a little longer than 20-30 minutes because your exhaust guy will most likely have to tack the cat in place then drop the y pipe to weld the upstream side of the cat since it is a really tight squeeze in there. I had the muffler shop up the street attempt to weld the top of mine since I couldn't seem to get it with that miller welder and he couldn't either, so I had to drop the y-pipe to get at it.

J Mcwillis and jamin ram, the 2 in 1 out style magnaflow cats cost about 130$ more so y'all aren't as lucky as us 2000-2001 guys http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-23285/

[QUOTE=Sheriff420;2147184]If you're going to gut it then you should go to the parts store and get a female to female 2.5" ID sleeve and two clamps so you can put the pipe back together after gutting, and you need to take the 02 sensors out of the pipe so you don't smash them up.

I would like to do it this way but my cat is a 95 so it has two pipes coming in and one coming out the back that goes over the transmission mount so the back pipe is all the at the top of the cat. Do you think it has enough ***** to blow all that out from the bottom? im sure all that stuff is well smashed up in there

If you cut it behind the cat on the straight part of the pipe and really smash it up with a pipe then it should be able to blow it all out. The catalyst material just being loose isn't broken up enough to come out on its own right now if it hasn't been introduced to a pipe or pry bar or something like that.

This style of clamp would probably be better than a sleeve and two clamps http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-33240/?rtype=10

That makes me feel better then. And I guess it's just the way the older trucks are setup, but the guy who welded mine on had no trouble getting to any of the weld points. And I was standing next to him the whole time BS'ing so I know he didnt just skip over any tough spots.

Also 95 jamin ram was asking about a screen earlier, when I took my stock one and looked it over there were screens on both ends. Nothing a pry bar couldn't handle.

Are you sure it was a screen and not the catalyst? It looks like a screen. I still have my old one and if no one takes a picture by tomorrow then I can show you what it looks like.
