Default small project pitcures

Painted the diff cover last week, and never did show a picture. Here is a picture and the process...

  1. Wire wheel all the cr@p off the cover
  2. Spray it with brake clean to get all the grease off
  3. Spray two coats of your choice of paint
  4. Let dry
  5. Install with RTV between the cover and diff...

My CB antenna install:

I grabbed a small piece of aluminum, and bent it to fit. It started out about 8 inch's long and 1 1/2inch's wide, and after bending here is the resulting mount. I think I may have to re do it though. It may whip in the wind more than I want...

Now onto relocating my trailer brake controller.

It came with the truck, but did not have a mounting bracket. I also have a ashtray that won't get used... Besides that it was broken on the back so I could not even use it as a change holder. So I thought to myself, "will it fit in the ashtray?"

Here is the rough fitment picture...

I started die grinding the ashtray so the brake controller will protrude out the front. If it does not work, then off to the wrecker for an ashtray and I make a bracket for the controller... Time will tell...

If not, then I just make another aluminum cover like the one on the cup holder. Its not a huge worry on one side or the other.
