I usually get around 14mpg...i actually got 15mpg about a week ago, and I dont drive like a grandma but i dont go WOT all the time. 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie Sport 5.9L 360ci. But these trucks are not the best for max fuel economy.

yea i got around 12mpg with my 1994 ram 5.2l with 87 octane gas, i started using 89 to see if there was an improvement, and i installed a 40 series flowmaster muffler because the old one was rusting through, and i noticed an 2.5mpg gain, i regularly get 14.5 mpg at fill up with 89 octane gas, i dont run wide open alot but i dont exactly baby it, i got a Sheetz gas card for graduation and put high grade 92 octane in it, it got up to 15.5 but im sure high octane at shell or something would be better cuz sheetz gas is ****. And yea the guy that talks about driving techniques is right, i pretty much drive like him and get decent mileage.

8.5 every time. I would be happy with anything in the double digits.

Gotta be something wrong there. Even I can get 12 or so around town, and thats with a 3/4 ton and a 360.

Huh? Do you drive it or get out and push it around town?

I concur with HeyYou. Something definitely wrong.

My truck isn't that dissimilar from yours. Super 44, 52mm TB, kegger mod. With just that combo, before the tuner and e-fans, I'd get about 11-12 in town, and I drive with a lead foot.

You should be a few MPGs into the double digits, even with a lead foot. How many miles do you have? If anywhere near 80k, have you replaced the front O2 sensor?

Yea I just broke 70,000 the other day. I do drive with a heavy foot every once and while but something is not adding up. Just added Mobil 1 synthetic. I had a toolbox with a lot in it but I took that out to see if it made a difference. The air filter is clean, no check engine light, good on oil, all exhaust pipes look good definitely no rust, tire pressure is at 35. Anymore money going in my truck will be the o2 sensor, tune up, and 14x3. I've done a lot of reading on here and I don't think anything else would have an effect on it. But hey a wise man once told me that the best gas saving device is a locking gas cap.
