In my last ram 1500 2wd qc with the 5.2 i would get right around 380 out of a full tank. God i wish i still had that truck. My 2500 gets about 290 to a full tank

I dont think so. I fill it full lock the cap, reset trip to zero, and ran it down to the red line unlocked cap and refueled 23gallons. I noticed today that the truck seem'd sluggish.

stewie01 You mean 4x2. 2x4 is a piece of wood.
yes thats what I meant 4x2 its 2wd truck 1500

I don't lnow how one can accurately measure milage by how many miles per tank...unless you run it dry each time. Accuracy of gauge near the top or near the bottom of the range is way off. Actual miles divided my gallons to fill is the only way to measure.....

If you reset trip at fill up, drive until you want gas again, fill it up again, you know the number of miles, and how many gallons you used. There is gonna be some margin of error, simply because on different days, the pump will kick off at different points. (even different pumps will kick off at different points....) but, close enough for government work.

Fill tank, reset trip odo, drive..... fill tank, make note of gallons put in, and miles traveled, do the math.

On my truck, when the 'low fuel' light comes on, there is still six gallons of gas in my 26 gallon tank.....

Yes but when the needle in my truck is on the red line I have 10-15 miles before Im dry. So when I figured the 280 to a tank I figured in the last 15miles for the gallon that was left. I put 23.8 gallons in the truck when I ran it that low. Now assuming I have a 25 gallaon tank that left me with 1.2 gallons.

You guys see what Im trying to tell yall yet?

No Dodge Ram has a 25 gallon tank. So all your figuring is wrong. I suggest you get one of these. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U
