They stretch their maximum amount, and they don't pull back like a spring when the torque is removed.

Meaning you won't be able to put the same amount of torque on them, so you stand a chance of breaking the bolt.

TTY bolts are not like any other bolts, they have a stretch/pressure designed to push down with a certain amount of pressure.

But since APS includes Mopar gaskets and bolts for $135, I'd go with APS.

yeah the APS kit does include MOPAR gasket which is a + but as i mentioned earlier...the APS is a LITTLE more expensive. Prior to shipping and handling APS runs $139 and Hughes runs $130.90.

S+H at APS is $19! but MOPAR gasket is a nice incentive

THe hughes gasket looked the exact same as the one that was in my truck for the plenum. Actually i could have used that gasket. It is a steel gasket. So you can reuse it if it is still straight.

My plenum was not blown, so I could have just bought the plate and saved 10 bucks. But having a new gasket and new plenum bolts was worth the extra 10 bucks.

funny you should say that a MOPAR gasket gives you peace of mind for a MOPAR plenum that you are replacing because MOPAR messed up.

yeah but you would think after 9 years, the MOPAR products that are currently being sold have been "fixed". however, it is the plate that is mainly at fault, not the gasket.

my goal is to try and keep everything MOPAR on my truck. i even have the MOPAR valve covers and air basket as you.

Mopar uses the same crappy stainless steel plate to fix plenum leaks...that will eventually break again.

YOu can get a new plenum plate from mopar. But it will be stainless steel.
