I used a gasket. Peace of mind type of thing. A gasket costs about as much (maybe a bit more) than the big bottle of ultra black.

I highly recommend you using 50% lucas oil stabilizer and 50% valvoline synthetic gear lube. THe lucas oil has an anti foam which is what the limited slip additive is. You can even go 100% lucas oil stabilizer, however it is VERY thick and hard to get in there.

Or, you can just get a hand pump and pump the oil out then put more back in. No dis-assembly required!!!

I noticed a smoother ride after my change. I am convinced that time is more of a factor than miles. After a while,. the oils get tarnished.

That is why my oil changes are every 3 months OR 3K miles. You can alternate synthetic and dino oil if you are changing that regularly. but in all honesty, if you are changing oil every 3 months OR 3K. Then you can just use ANY dino oil.

Shop didn't wait anytime when they pulled my cover and resealed it cause it was leaking a little. They also said we don't like using the gaskets we use the gasket maker it works better.

Y'all think I should use 80w90 with my eaton posi? I need to replace the chrome cover one if these days need to know what to put back in

I have heard that people use the 140W for the rear if you tow regularly. I think i read that in the manual. I still have my manual for my 2001.
