Ok sorry I've been slow with this gettn back but I'm at the lake haha. Cooling off. But. I did call 4wparts about 4 times. Talked to a so called manager and all they did was say its not there issuse its detroits. I'm sending an email to detroit and. Explaining everything one more time. Also ill be calling on wed, with my friend (a ford master tech) so they have a pro telling then what's going on. If they don't do anything then. Watch you tube for many videos of failing detroits. P.s. ill let them know that to, plus starts posts on every forun out there.

Well today was the day I talked to Detroit. Since i didn’t get a reply to my email i sent out Monday. This is what I was told. They will not send me a new locker until they bench test the one i have now. I told them i do not have the time for my truck to be down for weeks, just so they can bench test my locker. I asked if they would just send me a new one and ill send them mine when i get it. They said no, there company does not do that. I strongly stated that this truck is my competition truck and I pull it every Friday or Saturday. They say that truck pulls are not that expensive so not having my truck for a week or two is not a big deal!?????????????????? That is bull!!!!!!!!!! There is at least a grand up every weekend. Well i told them to expect videos on YouTube and on all forums out there, starting with this one. They told me if I want to, tear apart the locker myself and see if there are any broken parts or weak springs. but don’t give me any specs. I told them i understand my problem is not normal. That even though the locker checks out on there little test they have you run, that under load it IS FAILING!!!! I’m sure if I had a BIG Name or a big sponsored truck on a national circuit then i would be helped. But no don’t help the little guy that buys your stuff every day. So.. keep you eyes open and tomorrow night i am making the video and hope to have it up by next week. I have lost 3 pulls so far this year because of a DETROIT LOCKER coming unlocked under load. I will NEVER buy another product from the DETROIT or EATON company again. p.s. or 4Wheelparts haha. And its not because there products dont work, They do, Its just when they dont, if you dont have a big name they wont go out of there way to help you out. They also said buy a new one, send mine back, and if it passes the bench test well then i just bought two detroits.

Hey now, don't rag on eaton...I have an E-Locker in the front and when operated correctly (crawling engagement) it functions flawlessly every single time.

Eaton and Detroit are the same company. and Im not saying there products dont work because ive seen many on them work just fine. Im saying mine does not work and because i dont run my truck in a big money class they are not going out of there way to help me. Its simple all they have to do is send me a new one, ill take mine out and send it in. Not that hard to do when i have a rare case of failur.

crying and whining about Detroit not sending you a free locker while you have one in your truck is not a solution.

your solution starts with an easy first step; pull the locker. if its faulty (and it DEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE IT) then bring it into the shop you bought it from. if its obvious, they'll return it too... and give you a new one off the shelf. if not, then you can escalate it.

my advice, pull the locker, throw the old carrier in weld that puppy solid; go win your next race.....
then,

drive to store where locker was purchased. CHIRP tires enough so they HEAR you coming...... walk into store with grin; SLAM locker down on counter, and ask 'why doesn't this make my tires chirp?' and see what they say.
or send it into Detroit. if your rears welded and locked it'll hold up for a couple weeks....

oh, and if they say the lockers good, offer to sell it to them.........

good luck man. it pisses me off when my ARBs don't work.....

or get 4wheel parts or whatever to test the locker/truck.......... if you can get them to drive the truck and it unlocks, they can't deny its faulty, and they'll have to warranty it.........

The shop i bought it from is 4 Wheel parts. This company has a bad rep in customer service ( Now i know this ). but they told me this is not there problem that ill have to get a hold of detroit. So i did. I went to 4.88's so i do not have the factory carrier to go back in or it would already be in. ARB has been a great company. A friend of mine bought a Used ARB for his jeep and he calls them about some problems and they were more that happy, No questions asked, to send all kind of goodies. The thing is with my locker and why im being all whiny is mine will pass a "bench" test. But put it under a real life load and if fails every time.

Did you get your videos yet? If so, post them on youtube, get your receipt from having your axle checked for straightness, scan a copy, and send both to Detroit. Also CC to the BBB.

so if you do a burnout you'll only leave one skid mark? do you chirp the tires around corners? does it bind and jerk and clunk?
you didn't get a trutrac installed by accident did you? all your symptoms sound like a typical limited slip differential......

have you checked your diff fluid lately? any other sounds comin from the diff?

did you bring the truck into 4 wheel parts? i'd bring it into the shop, have them look. Detroits don't 'fail' like that. they just can't
