more power at higher rpm
My 98 Ram 1500 2wd seems to get a real puch of power at higher rpm. When I say higher I mean about 2,750 and up. A friend of mine said that there may be a plenum leak. I have looked in the throttle body and intake and see no oil there, I use less than a quart of oil between oil changes approx. every 3,000 - 3,500 miles never have any kind of troubles at all. It just seems wierd that a 360 would have more high rpm power. Am I over looking something here? Is there anything else that I should be looking at or checking? Or is this normal for this engine? Thanks in advace for all of your comments and help.

I have been plannning to get an after market exhaust here sometime soon. I had to have the muffler and tail pipe replaced early this year for emissions purposes. I was running a single in dual out Flowmaster but didn't have the cash to have that setup put back on so it is stock again. Even with that Flowmaster exhaust I still noticed the power difference.

My truck has the same issue, It also didnt show any other sign of the plenum until last thursday night when I was racing my brothers lancer, a friends jetta, and another friends 95 2500 5.9 with some minor mods. After loosing all three races because I cant get out of the hole I took off the intake hood and just with a cell phone saw the oil shining. The entire belly pan is covered with the brownish shine of oil. Basical what im trying to say is just because u dont see anything right now, doesnt mean that it isnt blown.
