brake controller

brake controller
Hey everyone. I'm looking to get a brake controller installed on my pickup. Straight forward question, which brake controller would any of you recommend, or do you have that works great? I'd like to install a progressive one versus one that only applies a constant amount to the trailer. The trailers I pull are pretty heavy when they have something in them or on them and I've been pulling them without the trailer brakes working (example that 4 place snowmobile trailer) which I'm pretty sure is a big no no if I ever got stopped by the troopers. I'm also after saving excessive wear and tear on my pickup brakes. Thanks guys!

Don't know it wont be here till wens and it gets installed on thurs. IDK when I will be using it of the most part I pull the smaller trailer (1 7/8 ball single axle). It will gets it test in the fall for leaf season.
The Tekonsha P3 is really advanced is will control each axle or the hole trailer. I think its good to like 5 axles which is way more than I needed. Plus I didn't buy it the boss bought it for me cause he can write it off for taxes.
I have heared any complaints from the Impulse. They said it works fine. Only time they had issue's with it was in the rain. They said it locked the brakes on the trailer a few times. How they corrected that issue was to turn down the amount of breaking going to the trailer.
With the 16ft trailer (5k gvw) with 2 60" exmarks and one 48" mower he runs it around 2- 2.5 depending on the hills. With 7yrds of wet mulch he goes about 4.
The features on the Tekonsha P3 are amazing it really thinks for you and adjust to the hills. You can change the colors on it and every thing. Might be worth getting.
I'm hoping a few other guys will jump in here and add there advice to the thread.

I've always liked these, they are simple to set (small dial on the side) and have never had one fail on me, ..... the price ain't too bad either.

not mine Yeah here is a cell pic of mine, and my two blue toggles I swapped in this weekend to get rid of my diamond plate switch panel I had been using.
Edit, for some reason the picture makes it look like it is mounted really low but it isn't that low.. :/ Must be because it is a cell pic.
