a/c coming out of dash vents- worse after tps replacement
where do u say the leak is again?
i have 17 in of vac at idle.. haynes says 17-20in. all of the vac tests that the haynes manual has in it, i performed and found nothing abnormal or wrong. according to the manual i have a healthy engine, not so becuz it burns the hell outta some oil
The new one should have an arrow for flow direction. or some such. And consider, it has been in there a LONG time, in a HOT environment. The vacuum lines tend to glue themselves to plastic pieces over time..... Careful with it, it also tends to make plastic brittle.... try and twist it back and forth to get it to break loose, then pull it out.

You can cut the plastic line and patch it with vac hose from the parts store. The hose should slide onto the outside of the plastic line. Be sure to go to the parts store before you cut and verify they have the correct size vac tube.
If there is a junkyard near you, go scouting for a vacuum reservoir. All it is, is a plastic ball, or, some other shape.... with a hose nipple on it. Grab one, install it on your truck, and plumb it in between the check valve, and the a/c controls. Will either significantly reduce, or even eliminate the problem.
