Default My New Dodge

It's a 95 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9l. I bought it for $600 and a plow for $900. It's got 122,333 miles on it. It came with a new radiator that I'll be installing and I just purchased new front shocks for it and a new battery. I tried to get it started yesterday with the new battery so I could drive it home (it's located at my boss's farm) but it wouldn't start. It sounded like it really wanted to, but just couldn't. It has been sitting since last summer when he purchased his new Dodge. I'm sure it's a fuel issue and my buddy thinks it might be the fuel filter. What do you all think?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Cool! Welcome to DF!!

Could be any number of things.... since it has been sitting for a while, might just be the gas has gone bad/accumulated too much water..... Did you try holding the pedal to the floor while you cranked?

Yea, I held it to the floor. I also added a few gallons of fresh gas with a little carb cleaner.

so then you have a problem with spark (or timing doudbt than if ran when parked)

i would look at and check the cap, rotor, coil, plug, wires

+1 to ur spark, if it didnt fire with gas or starter fluid in the throttle body then u know right there that its not sparkin, id start with the plugs first, see if u can get it fired to get it home then u can complete the tune up later.

Ok thanks. I just tried to start it again with out starter fluid and it sounded like it didn't want to start at all. I'm going to have my friend come over in a few days and he'll help me get it running, and then we can do all the work to it.
