performance ignition coils

And it doesn't give you any more power. You get a smoother idle, and maybe a bit better throttle response, but, you are adding another layer of complication to the ignition system as well.
I wouldn't call it complication, It hooks up to the two wires going to the coil. They do wonders for carbed motors with EFI not so much but better than stock.

I had one on my 88 Firebird Formula 350. (a torquey motor to begin with.) It started faster, idled smoother, but, that was about it. Till it failed, then it simply wouldn't run.

Default Performance coil

The adapter works for msd but for that ignition coil to last, you have to change the wires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor. I tried msd coil but it burned it up after an hour, it uses too much power
