first off wrong section to post in, it will fit but you will need to get engine mounts, a new tranny, along with new wiring, it is worth it if you can do the work yourself

Id pass on it
Really need to get a donor truck to do it right.
Pull the puter, harness, mtr and trans.
Have to make mounts for the mtr & trans & cut the driveshaft.

Guy on another board did it recently.
Did a couple things to the 10 (rt cam, hdrs, tb) and seems to think it will run mid 12s na.
I figure him for 14 flat with it.
Havent seen him post in over a month since he got it on the road.

Captain Cameltoe? He is a member on here too, just never logs on, I am with you on that, I don't think he is at mid 12s naturally aspirated as the newer SRT-10s are barely putting out low 13s stock.

It prob won't be worth it man. $500 is just the starting point of the wallet drain an engine swap will bring. Plus they only get 10-12 mpg. If your gonna swap an engine, look for a cummins switch, way more power potential, 20+ MPG, +BA

If you do swap for the 488ci, get the donor truck so can get all the parts ur gonna need easliy

I like the idea. He can post everything that goes wrong and we can find out how much it really costs.

GO FOR IT!!!

But seriously. It is not as simple as a pull and plop. YOu will need the computer and tranny. If the engine came out of a 4x4, then you will need to put in the transfer case as well...and the 4x4 axle. If you don't then the computer (which has wires running into it from the transfer case) will not work properly.

You see how much this is adding up already. You can BUY a v10 2500 for less than this will cost you.

accept, there's alot more involved with a cummins, like spending 3k on a motor, run a 24v system, fuel lines etc.

Yeah, for either project, it would actually be cheaper just to find a truck in the configuration you wanted.......
