MAF sensor??? Maybe you mean MAP (manifold absolute pressure)??

How many miles on it? Service engine light on? Could be a bad O2 sensor as well.... or a sticking injector......

What do the plugs look like? What codes was it giving?

Black smoke is running rich. (but, you knew that.... ) I would look long and hard at the O2 sensor first, and then start looking at injectors.

running that rich, plugs might be fouled..... worth looking at, but yeah, I don't think that is the whole problem.

Have you tried putting it back to the stock tune? and see if the problem goes away?

black smoke can also mean you are burning oil. If the valve seals are leaky, it will allow oil to seep into the CCs when parked, and when you drive it, you will see black smoke when you get on it then it will clear up.

But that does not seem right for a new engine. However you did run it hot. I owned a camaro, and i ran the car hot ONCE. I ended up having severe blow by and it caused the TC cover, oil pan, and rear main seal to leak oil. The oil would touch the headers and make black smoke every time i got on the gas.
