Default Diy 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9 trans solenoid replacement steps

Does anyone have the steps to replace the transmission solenoid pack on a 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9 ?

In the FAQ section, there is a download available for the PDF version of the 2001 shop manual. That will have the procedure you are looking for. Pretty much everything is the same in any event.

manual will have step by step instructions. Not many pics though. Read thru it, get an idea of what needs to happen, and then go for it. A lot of it will make more sense when you actually see what you are taking apart.

There are a couple full trans rebuild DIY's out there in the world, check j415's transmission post in the FAQ section for links.

Thanks i'll give it a shot, i just dont wnat ot mess with taking apart the valve body

You have to drop the valve body, but, don't have to really disassemble it. Just pay attention to what your are doing, and what bolts go where. You will be fine.

Got a new filter to go in there as well?
