Default Tranny vibration issues.

Lately my transmission has been violently vibrating my whole truck. I didn't notice it for a while until it started getting really bad and making noise. Well I got underneath and saw that the bell housing to engine block support bracket was broken. I replaced it and things got better. Mind you this vibration also occured when i would start the truck. So I took the starter out to see if anything looked chewed up. Everything was peachy. Put it all back together and now I get a very fast but dealable vibration at the top end of every shift and a completely horrible vibration in reverse. I'm completely baffled. Idk what to do now. All bolts are tight. Nothing is loose that I can see. But it still shakes the whole damn truck in reverse. I don't get it. The only thing I can compare it too is when my crank position sensor was Bent and hitting the flexplate.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Its possible that the vibration caused the bracket to break, and not the lack of the bracket caused the vibration.....

Could be...but idk what's causing the vibration. Interesting note, before I replaced the bracket, I was able to push up on the starter and it would click, like it was hitting something, but the bolts to it were tight as ever. Idk what's happening

If it vibrates in park, it is either an engine, or torque converter vibe. Not sure if there is enough room to unbolt the T/C, and push it back enough to clear the flex plate, so you can run the engine without it..... Don't rev the engine with the T/C unbolted though..... See if your vibration goes away.

The truck shakes when it's in park...but nothing more than usual. It really starts to vibrate when in reverse or top end of a shift in drive. When in park or nuetral and I look underneath it looks like the whole tranny is shaking wayyyyy too much. I noticed the harmonic balancer seemed a little off. I'm not sure though. Also noticed my drivers side engine mount bolt was higher in the mount than the passenger side. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. I really don't have the money to take it to a shop right now, but I might not have a choice.

could be misfiring really bad, could have a bad motor mount, could have a bad trans mount, could have a bad u-joint, etc.

Trans mount is fine as far as I can tell. U joint is fine as well. Drivers side engine mount might be bad but I'm no expert...I think I'm gonna have to take it to a shop...Fml.

Hmmm... a torque converter not staying filled would do this, and a hung or partially plugged check valve would cause it. The check valve is a cheap and easy fix -- just delete it.

A bent or cracked flex plate or a broken vane in the torque converter will also cause the symptom you've got. If you've got a trustworthy assistant to man the throttle and stand firmly on the brake pedal, remove the inspection cover and watch the torque converter for vibration or wobble with the engine RPM up to 2500 or so. Check first in park after the engine has been off for two hours, then again in neutral. More vibration/shimmy/wobble in the first test than the second makes that check valve more suspect (because it's not working properly), about equal in both tests makes the flex plate and/or torque converter more suspect.

If you've got excessive torque converter motion the front pump is at risk, and with it the rest of the transmission. Don't let this problem go unless you're looking for an excuse to R&R the transmission.

I don't have a check valve. I took that out when I replaced the transmission. I took the cover off and inspected the flexplate and tq converter before, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I will have some one rev it hopefully tonight while I'm under it. The whole thing confuses me. All this happened within a span of like a week or two.

I'm taking it to the shop on Friday. I have suspicions though that it's the flexplate. The tq converter is brand new. Regardless, it only vibes at the top end of every shift and the very beginning of reverse.
