Default Leakey exhaust manifold

Just got a 1999 Dodge with a 5.9L Gas engine.

On the passenger side, the 2 rear bolts for the manifold are missing, suspected they have been broken off. Exhaust is leaking making it sound like I'm driving a lawnmower down the road. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks

remove the manifold and replace the the gasket its quite simpe actually replace all the bolts well your at it and just use a bolt extractor to get the studs out..where it bolts to the flange its just a nut and a bolt so make sure you throw a wrench on the one end and if its too tight just use a die grinder and cut them..

I don't think the stock manifold came with a gasket. Everyone I've heard from so far, has been surprised not to find a gasket there. Could be wrong though.

I just talked to the previous owner and no good news. He said he broke the bolts and then broke the taps trying to get the bolts out... dang it... think a mechanics shop can still get them out?

Yes, but, certainly not cheaply. Expect to pay several hours of labor at whatever they rate is for those to come out........ Might be cheaper just to pick up some Ebay heads, and be done with it.

Call around though, and ask for pricing.

Suggestions, anyone? Which headers should I get? Dont want to spend a lot of money here. After headers I'm wanting to go into a Magnaflow.

What kind do you suggest? By all means, include links!

Dont cheap out on headers, get ceramic coated if your going to get them. They'll last a lot longer and wont rust. Gibson makes good headers ( I have theyre ceramic shorties on) pacsetters (sp?) arnt bad either.

You can get Long tube(LT) or short tube(shorties), LTs make a bit more horsepower and give a different exhaust note, they also however requre modifying the y-pipe.

Shorties however make more hp ( not as much as LT IE. 13hp(LT) vs 7(shorties)), give a different exhaust note, and bolt right up to your y-pipe.

and they looks sexy....
