Default 98 Dodge Ram engine swap

My father in law wants to know if a magnum 5.7L engine will fit into a 1998 Dodge Ram? Were new to this so let us know if you need more info. Thanks.

BTW: the 98 dodge ram had a 5.2L engine.

It will fit, but you'll need everything that goes with the engine, including the transmission. Not an easy swap by any stretch of the imagination.

it would take a huge amount of finagling and problem solving - including computer and all the wiring, maybe the cluster, etc, etc. i wouldn't try it. you could put in a 5.2 replacement and drive it 100k miles before you ever even got the hemi to run.

Agreed, it would be more cost effective to just throw a 390 stroker in there.

The previous owner literally blew the pistons I mean LITERALLY. Including damaging the engine block beyond repair. I'll see if I can post some pics if the damage.

Yeah, that one is a little difficult to recover from......

Your best bet, is to just stuff another 5.2 in there, or, get a 5.9, and get a tune from Hemifever, so the PCM will run it right.
