i also changed the park neutral switch on the trans a couple weeks ago. and now the reverse lights come on anytime the engine is running. whether the trans is in park or any other gear. im asuming the switch is the problem. any ideas?
Did you ever solve this particular problem? I would think the ABS would be highly annoyed if it got data telling it the truck was moving.... but was also in Park..... Computers are pretty literal, and that would confuse the crap out of it.

I had this problem with my truck. It is called NO BUS, as told by the signal in the cluster. It has to do with the PCM not being able to communicate with the instrument cluster. Without a voltmeter that connects to the computer, it is hard to fix because it could literally be about a thousand different things. Mine tuned out to be a bad ground.

I havent fixed the park neutral switch problem yet. i didnt think that would cause a problem like this, but now i see how it could. i may just replace that switch AGAIN and hope it fixes this highly aggravating issue. thanks again guys.

When somebody finds the brand of truck that never has a problem, PM me immediately, please.

Hey Now.... My grandfather owned a chevy truck for better than 30 years. It never gave him one single problem. Never a major repair. Not even tires.

Of course, it sat in the barn, and never moved for 29 of those 30 years......

i just got back from the part store with an expensive bag of stuff. going to change the vss and neutral safety switch again along with the trans filter. hope this works. also....i was on here last night and kept reading about the death flash. i went out to my truck at 3am and low and behold there is a sticker on my pcm advising of the dreaded program update. guess i'll have to get that squared away as soon as i get this other issue resolved. i really doubt the plenum is blown because i replaced the engine a few years back and dont think theres even 15k on it yet. the only mods iv done are an ebay cai and a flowmaster single in dual out muffler. i do however plan on installing headders in the near future. will hemifever's tuner really wake my truck up that much?
