BREAKING NEWS ON THE BAD INSTALL FRONT.

When down to my buds house and did all the drive shaft u joints. We where talking the rear shaft off and you could move the rear pinion about 1" in either direction. The front diff is leaking gear oil as well. I still have a whine after spending 100 in new drive shaft u joints and now it clicking its totaly trashed. Both dodgeboy7 and pcfixerpro saw the play and could hear everything listed above.

Now it leads me to this I'm going to call the gear shop and try to remain calm and explain them what is happing and ask for a full refund. I don't want them touching my ****ing **** anymore. Plain and simple. If they do not give me a refund and I can't desputie the charge on the card I'll see them in court. Don't want to go there but I will if I have to. 730.98 is a lot to be out at the age of 19.

Ouch. I bet the ring and pinion in the rear end is trashed with an inch of play in it.

The ring and pinion are essentially trashed as soon as a wear pattern emerges. How long depends on how badly out of alignment it was, how far and how hard it was driven.

My guess is you'll need to press for a whole new rear R&P. Actually, I'd insist on it.

I still contribute the free play to being from the locker although I have never had any experience with them. The 1/4 turn of the driveshaft play (extreme to extreme) I felt seems to be a lot... but there is no way that the play is comming from the gears. You drive down the road fine, the locker is working correctly (lock and unlock), the only prb is the free play when you put it in gear. I'd talk to someone who has a detroit locker first hand and compare to see what you should expect with your build.

Well there is still a whine and the pinion seal is leaking and there is to much play in there for just a locker. The drive line was tight when it went in and not its lose? What about the clunk?

As far as I know I'm the only person on the vast forums with a 9.25 and a detroit locker.
