Red face Idle issue

Hello all new to this site and have a question.
I have a 95 1500 extended cab 2x4 with 150k on it.
Not many problems in the past minus 4 transmissions 1 fuel pump and 1 cat Alt, Batt, 1 idle air control valve 2yrs old
Today ran out to work and truck died at first it would not start until I gave it a touch of throttle but letting off the throttle the truck would die right away. Got to work thinking ok no biggie like a few yrs earlier ill take the iac valve out clean it and should be ok. I took it out little bit of soot on the valve tried to clean the insides but couldnt very well with throttle body cleaner and a rag but put it back together and tried to start it wouldnt start until i stepped on the throttle a little bit but yet again died when i took my foot off the peddle all my vacume lines looked fine at that time so did a few cycles of the start run a bit but at one point held my foot on the throttle and watched the tach jump 100 rpms up or down without me moving the peddle at all. Shut the truck off started up ran ok.. got up to temp still running so tried coming home from work. What is strange is if i am say going 35 or so runs great but if i let up off the throttle fast the rpms dip down to 100-200 then bounce up to normal and come back down then even out but if i let up slowly it doesnt do that.

any help would be appricated dont have alot to throw at it right now or would throw a map tps take the throttle body off but wife just got laid off work so... if you can give me a good idea id appricate it thanks guys

What i was thinking but atm at home with no toy box for the moment anything in particular i should look for on the tps? Other than changing one on equipment when i get trouble code I havent had any problems other than a operator breaking a connector off on the peddle so different than what i normally run into...

They are rarely if ever an 'obvious' problem, and a fair percentage of the time won't even set a code. They just give bad info to the PCM, so, you get odd behavior. If you have an analog VOM available, probe pins 2 and 3, (Orange/Dark Blue, Black/Light Blue, respectively) and make sure the VOM sweeps smoothly from about 1 volt, to 5, as you open the throttle. If it jumps around, replace it.

Nope. they are non-adjustable. If that one is bad, replace it, disconnect the batter for five minutes or so, reconnect, and drive away. Computer will relearn the new sensor.
