Default I give up

Plain and simple my truck will not haul anything. It very upsetting to know that i cannot put 4 quads a aluminum trailer and not haul them to save my life. No CEL. But for some reason the computer floods the motor out. All of about 4 miles to the gallon, and if I stand in her, she stumbles her way to 3000 and then pulls like a ..... ape. This happens every time i try to put a load on the motor.

I have no clue where to start or what to even look at. I am beginning to think its in the computer somewhere.

I don't know, lets see if anyone has any input on the subject

Could be a number of things including that Hughes fix failing...

Hook up a true OBD2 monitor that will allow you to monitor all the sensors on the truck. Post back any abnormalities.

I'm wanting to lean towards the idea that you might have an O2 sensor getting a little lax about its readings.

Usually a bad cat will prohibit even getting up to 3000 rpms.

Are you saying you put your foot to the floor and it won't really get moving until about 3000 rpms?

cat is punched out, was like that when i bought it. Truck has done this since 126xxx when it was bought, it not just turn 170xxx miles. Runs great with out a load, but as soon as i hook anything up it goes to crap.

Currently has 35s on it with the 3.55 gears, and i haven't had a problem till i hooked up, but i know its now because of the tires because it did this before with the tiny 265s. I tried getting the o2 sensor out of the cat but it wont budge. even tried heating it and removing it, wouldn't budge, but ran fine.

It stumbles its way to 3000 because the pcm is dumping so much gas into the motor, if i stand in it, it smokes like a diesel
