I have not...I asked my mechanic about it and he seemed to think because the #1 plug is the only one that looked odd and that at the time I was getting no codes that it was something else... how difficult are they to access... the issue started when my tranny was rebuilt so I thought maybe the sensor could have gotten damaged or knocked around... Isnt one in the distributor and on on the block by the tail-housing?
I still have the noises at the head which seems to quiet down after warm up?

Crank sensor is on the back of the block, passenger side. It is frequently a victim of tranny swaps...... cam sensor is in the dist. Not in quite as much danger of being damaged during a swap.

The cold is not going to effect the cat. I'd say you have other issue(s). And since you have not stated the problem you are having, I don't think anyone wants to guess.

I agree we dont know what you issue is of if you have codes? have you ruled out the 02 sensor? If you feel your cat is clogged I've seen a trick is to put about a gallon of laquer thinner in the fueltank with a half a tank of gas and run the engine at 2,000 rpm for a half hour to clean it out.... I saw it on youtube... some actually remove the cat and wash it in solvents too....(or replace it . they can be found new for as little as $68 bucks on ebay)....

theoretically extreme cold will effect it.... It supposed to reach a certain very high temp to do its job...at -15 it may not be getting hot enough , especially if the plenum is shot and the trucks burning oil from that or just being worn out...

Not to mention you can gut it.(illegal) But cheap. And if it is clogged there is a reason why. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Well if it's clogged or clogging, it's getting plenty hot enough. That's why they glow when clogged.

mine is doing the same on #7. check fuel pressure cylinder compression, changed plugs wires cap and rotor. everything checked out ok. and it still does it. i even checked the injectors and pigtails. they were fine too. could it be timing or bad valve spring
