so i have the wild vents problem. i went to autozone and bought a HELP! check valve, just the most basic one you could get. i put it in between the intake and where it Y's in the hose. it helped maybe for a little bit but then came right back. do i have it in the right spot? do i need another one somewhere else? could i have a vacuum leak somewhere else? i checked twice to make sure i had it the right way.
There is two of them the one you replaced is the most frequent one to go bad the other is located in front of the firewall on the passenger side, just follow the line back of the one you replaced then when it goes towards the outer part of the valve cover you will see it.. Check the plastic line for breaks also.. Check out this link, the valve in the first pic is the one your looking for..
From what I've seen on three different rams (mine, my dads and my sisters) it is the check valve on the side of the intake manifold that goes more often than the one on the T.
The part number for the check valves from the stealership is 4549209
Well, they're simple to test. Pull it off and blow on both ends. It should plug easily on one side and not plug on the other. If it doesn't plug completely then it is bad.
yeah thanks for the info. i ended up taking some battery cable heat shrink and shrinking the tube/valve, so it sealed. it wasnt sealing up before i guess, cause it works now....
