Part of that procedure is to disable the PCV system. (which is what draws the vacuum on the crankcase.) You WILL see pressure in the crankcase, even on a brand new engine with PCV disabled. There is ALWAYS some blowby. How much pressure built up?
What is your oil pressure at idle when the engine is warm?
"something" is probably "new motor", or "rebuild time". Have you done a compression test on the engine? (both dry first, and then wet?)
the dash gauge reads 0psi but its really 3-5psi per a mechanical gauge. never done a compression test. o yea and by alot of oil i mean 1qt per 150 mi. vaccum tests are all good, ik they are not very reliable tho

like 2 psi or so. how could ther be vac and pressure in the crankcase at the same time?
Wow..... that's BAD. You should have at LEAST 10 pounds at idle..... if you are below that, then something definitely needs to happen. Might be as easy as a new oil pump... But, if you have a buncha buncha miles on there.... and your oil consumption is that bad with a GOOD plenum........ yeah, new motor, or rebuild time.
Do you have to return your old motor as a core? (I would be interested in it if you don't have to, and you aren't too far away....)

i still dont understand how ther can be pressure and vac in the crank? yea i do need it as a core sorry

If the plenum was blown, you would have vacuum in the crankcase, even with the PCV disabled......
the tsb said its normal for up to 3 psi of pressure to build in the crankcase so how would a vac/pressure gauge detect vac if ther was pressure arrent they opposites?
