Default Brake Line p/n's question

I have the dreaded brakeline rot on our truck and I want to replace them all, however I cannot find a replacement steel pre bent kit on the net. Only SS and I can't afford the cost of that kit.
Does anybody have a list of the Dodge part numbers for all the lines or is there a good internet parts site that has an illustrated view of all the lines?
There seems to be a shortage of good Dodge OEM internet parts sites for this truck.
I suppose I could go to our local dealer but it would be nice to have something to keep him honest with.
Our truck is a 2000 Sport 2500 4x4 with the 5.9L V8.

Why pay big bucks for prebent steel lines, when you can pick up bulk line for just a few bucks?

Just go to the dealer. Each line is around $30. I replaced all of mine a month ago when my rear line blew out. As soon as they plug in the last 9 of your vin, they can pull up the brake lines and order them. Mine came from a warehouse in NY. ordered about 3:30 on a friday afternoon and had them 8am saturday morning.

For ease of installation, making sure you have the right flare, right fitting etc... Dodge uses funky lines (metric and standard fittings on a line.) Take account the tools, time for bending (expecially that rear line!!!) etc. I'll tell you I had to bend one of mine because I forgot to order one. was a $7 section from napa, and had to re-use one of my fittings because napa didn't have it. had to borrow a bender and the flare tool. When I was done, it was close, but you can tell which one I bent. I don't mind doing a lot of stuff myself, but when it is something like this... pre-bent is much easier. Same thing when I did my power steering pump. You can rebuild the inside of the pump and risk having it seal or not or get an assembled pump for a few $ more. Still have to swap the pulley but still. Same thing with mounting a tire on a rim. $3 for walmart, or chance dicking up my rim. Thats how I look at things, but everyone has different views. Good luck OP!

I guess I will end up at the dealer. $30/ line is not too bad. I have made my own brakelines in the past but for the cost and to save the hassle I think I will just go with the prebent ones. Besides the time that I would spend bending and test fitting the lines I can spend just assembling and be done that much sooner. I don't charge myself for my time but I do like to save it where I can.
I try to always do my own work because I just don't trust anyone else. The garages & dealers are always trying to do the work so that they make money where I am trying to do it right even if it takes longer. I have found that if I use OEM parts on the repairs that matter things go much more smoothly. I won't use the OEM stuff on things like brake pads or stuff like that.

Just did my back line 2 weeks ago. Dodge qouted $85 for the line. I went to advance auto and bought 25' of line for $15. You really don't even need a bender but I did buy one and the flare tool. Didn't bother me spending $75 for the complete job now that I have the tools for next time or other vehicles.

Yep. Tools like that are inexpensive and pay for themselves on the first job. Then, they come in handy down the road. I am giving up the VW hobby, but many of the tools (ie brake line benders) can be used on my upcoming Dodge rebuild.

Changing your name to just 'dodge'?

I just can't justify spending that amount of money on brake lines that I can bend myself. Not like I haven't done enough of them..... but, I used to do the wrench turnin' thing for a living, and already have the tools....... not to mention being so poor, the church mice donate to my cause......

As for the power steering pump.... yeah, I don't think I ever got one of those to seal up right the first time........ I just replace 'em now. (and have, for quite some time... I gave up.)

I stopped at the dealer this morning and had them price up the brake lines. Bunch of ripoff artists. 8 metal brakelines and they want to charge 296.52 plus 17.79 sales tax. I had them print off the list of part numbers along with a diagram. The kicker is that the paperwork shows list price and my cost and they are the SAME.
I did some checking on the web and found a place called mopar wholesale in Tampa that seems to have really good prices. I have sent them an email to confirm what I found on the web but basically they are 50% less.
That is much closer to the $30/ line you guys were talking about.
