Default please help, no start after intake gasket

replacement. Its a 2001 1500 with the 5.2. I have no fuel pressure. I do not hear the pump come on. I also lost the fuel gauge too. Everything was fine before the gasket change. What wire did I mess up. Please read this thread as I posted to the wrong place first.

Check and see if you pinched any wires at the back of the intake manifold. Do any of your other gauges work? Getting a No Bus error on the instrument cluster?

did see a no bus on cluster. What does that mean?? Dash lights come on, but with no engine running hard to say if any other gauges work. I immediately noticed the fuel gauage didn't work.

That implies an ASD event. (auto shutdown) Check posts by CMckenna for info on troubleshooting this. He has some extremely good writeups for trying to figger it out.

basically, if the PCM does not get signal from a selection of sensors, or, what it determines to be a wrong signal...... (shorted to ground, etc.) it will trip the ASD relay, and the entire FI system is shut down. As the instrument cluster gets all its cues from the PCM, gauges stop working as well, and you get the no bus error message.

Just at a guess...... I would look VERY hard at the wiring for the cam position sensor (in the distributor), and the crank position sensor. (passenger side back of block. wiring passes over the back of the engine to the drivers side, where the connector is.) If either one of those is not connected, or borked in some fashion, say, crushed between the intake, and block...... you will see exactly the symptoms you have.

will do, seems to be a good suggestion. Not being familiar with these engines at all . I need an ideas as to where to look. All my connections seemed good.

OK, using a mirror looked at back of intake, everything seems fine. When I try to start, and then stop . . the mileage flashes 4 times before the no bus shows up. Does that mean anything? Then I try to pull a OBD II code and get a no connection from the tool. I guess this is all part of the total shutdown?

I honestly think you pinched something like HeyYou said. Try swapping relays and see if that works.

I've tried switching relays. I even checked for voltage at the terminals. I have both control and controlled circuit voltage at the asd and fuel system relay. I have looked over the engine for pinched wires, pulled connectors apart and reconnected. I'm still getting a no connection when trying a code scan.

Have a look thru this thread, particularly cmckenna's posts. They are troubleshooting pretty much the same issue.
