Shaking at 35 to 45 mph
hey yall have 99 ram 2500 with a 5.9 starting to shake about around 35 to 45 miles per hour then goes away at 55 then feels like its trying to change gears every so often any ideas thanks for any help
I have'nt checked any thing yet just wondering what anyone might think.I will check though and thank you all. Also I heard that it might be the throttle positioning sensor, does that sound like it may be.Thanks for the help,James
ujoints don't cause shaking. why would you suggest it?
is it a vibration or bad shake or a death wobble?
chances are its a bad wheel bearing/tierod/balljoint. try the cheap solutions first, like sheriff said, change the front tires to the rear. if the problem goes away, a bad tire/balance could be the culprit. if not, then you have to take a look. have someone wiggle the steeringwheel back and forth; check the balljoints/tracbar, tierods for movement. if something has play in it, that could be a problem. also, jack the front end up and grab the whee; give it a shake. there should be 0 play in it. if it moves at all, somethings gone (balljoint or unitbearing)
