Default ram headlights no workey

99 ram. almost giving up on this truck.........
so, headlights don't work. i have replaced the DRL module, the switch, and the headlights.

problem.. daytime running lights DO work. as do the brights. the low beams do not work. when i click the low beams on, the dash lights up still; but no lights. when i unplug the DRL module, the brights will work, but not the low beams.

now, heres the kicker; i busted out my tried and true test light, unplugged the bulb and testted the socket. i get power to all three sockets. so; where next? bad ground? where to the headlights ground too?

any ideas?

what switch did you change? The hi/low beam switch likes to go bad on these things also, fairly common problem around here. Take the kick panel off and search around for breaks, etc. where the column tilts

X2 on the dimmer switch (part of the turn signal switch... also known as a multifunction switch) That sounds like the most likely source of your problem.

Yep, the one in the steering column.

After you swap that one, let us know if they still don't work right.

Also, I don't suggest getting the switches from a JY, as this is a fairly widespread dodge problem, so you're likely to get another switch that is either bad, or will go bad sooner than you think. Just a heads up, we've seen this a thousand times

Contacts go bad. Parts in the mechanism that switches circuits break. Etc. I turned my headlights on the other day.... and.... no headlights. Tried the high beams, they worked, switched back to low beams.... they worked. I am betting that I am going to have to replace that switch soon.
